Last month, Live at the Village presented The Field and One Night The Moon. It was a fabulous night. The Field’s stylistic mix of Celtic, country, jazz blues is playful, unpredictable and highly inventive. The light, cheery and laid back music is written by Bruce Reid. The great soul diva Tina Harrod, who co-wrote the achingly beautiful lullaby “Golden Slumber with Bruce was a special guest.

The Field also launched their brand new album… “Merle Takes a Holiday”
The second part of the night was a film reprise of ‘One Night The Moon’.
One Night The Moon is a music drama film which features 20 songs by Paul Kelly, Kev Carmody and Mairead Hannan. Set in the outback in 1932, a young girl steps out of her bedroom window one full moon night and a search ensures. Police suggest an Aboriginal tracker; the father insists there be “No blacks on my land.”
Directed by Rachel Perkins, starring Paul Kelly and Kelton Pell, this multi award winning film also features Ruby Hunter, Chris Haywood, Karen Fairfax, Paul & Karen’s daughter Memphis and Dawn Field.
